The Saskatchewan Assessment Appraisers' Association (SAAA) is the organization of trained professional that are qualified to apply expertise in the mass valuation of property for ad valorem purposes in SaskatchewanThe SAAA was established as a self-governing regulated profession under The Assessment Appraisers Act in November 2002.  Saskatchewan assessors and assessment appraisers have a proud history that began almost 70 years ago with a view to improve standards, develop better techniques and disseminate useful information to its members.

The SAAA certifies individuals and licenses members to undertake valuations according to The Assessment Management Agency Act.  The SAAA is mandated to establish appropriate educational, experience and ethical requirements of assessment professionals, and to govern the activities of these members in the public interest.  Our organization is actively involved on advisory committees established to ensure fair and equitable assessments and inform the public. 

The SAAA is an affiliate member of the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) and is a founding member of the Interprovincial Professional Property Assessors of Canada (IPPAC).

For 2008 the SAAA had a membership of 197, with 116 Accredited members, 58 Candidate members, 1 Junior member and 22 Subscribing and non-practicing members

As of the mid June 2008 our memberships has the following additional designations besides the association’s designation:

·        32% of our members (63) are also IAAO members with 11 RES designations that all work in assessment and 18 CAE designations with 14 CAE’s working in assessment.

·        15% of our members (30) are AIC members with 12 CRA designations, 10 CRA’s working in assessment and 11 AACI designations with 7 AACI’s working in assessment.

·        The SAAA also has 41 members with Agricultural degrees.

·        Our members represent 23.4% (63 / 269) of the IAAO membership in Canada, with 10.7% (29/269) holding designations, the highest rate in the country.
